Michael Shines, Head Strength and Conditioning Coach, The College of Idaho

In May of 2008 thanks to a generous gift and additional support from Associated Students of The College of Idaho the 18 year old weight room in the J.A. Albertson Activities Center was updated with new strength training machines, benches, weight plates and cardio equipment.

The College of Idaho's weight room supports 14 varsity sports teams and a campus community that uses the facility for both personal fitness and PE classes.

Our reason for choosing Gym Outfitters for our facility update was very simple, "we felt that we had one chance to do it right".

The college could not afford to waste time or money on this project. Our plan was to replace everything in the weight room including the flooring. Many times an update of this magnitude becomes cost prohibited because of the expense associated with the purchasing of the new exercise equipment and the time and materials needed to do the job right the first time. By choosing Gym Outfitters all objectives were identified and in trusting their guidance the College of Idaho was able to purchase the equipment that appropriately met the needs of our facility. No excuses or surprises came with the final bid because of our lack of knowledge regarding the purchase pricing associated with the pieces of equipment or materials used and no shortcuts had to be taken to complete the facility update. Gym Outfitters handled every phase of the weight room update from the removal of the old equipment and designing a new weight room layout, to the removal of the old flooring and replacement of the new. In addition, to help protect our investment in the new weight room we took advantage of the preventative maintenance program offered by Gym Outfitters.

The weight room update was a complete success and it will continually impact the campus in a positive way
